Cargo Cover Noise Fix
To solve the major problem, which is the cover jumping and making noise when you drive over anything rough, I simply used velcro. Velcro has two parts, the hook part and the loop part. I got some peel-and-stick adhesive velcro and took care of it in two steps:
- Cut a 2" (5cm) square of the loop velcro about and apply it in the correct position on the hatch.
- Cut another same-size square of the loop velcro and of the hook velcro, and stick the adhesive sides together back-to-back forming a pad with the hook on one side and the loop on the other. Stick this new pad onto the velcro square on the hatch, to make it thick enough to press against the cargo cover and hold it tightly in place.
Car Problems how to reduce fuel consumption
It is said that "on the tank to the next supermarket to go inconveniently".
Necessary to consider that each 500 kg of weight of the car manage in nearby 700 liters of fuel (at norm of run of 20 thousand in km in a year). It means that if your car weighs 1000 kg, you will burn for a year about 1400 liters of fuel if it weighs 1500 kg - 2100 liters.
Problem of high fuel consumption in yours car can create:
- Wrong resettings of the engine, wheels (+ 10 %);
- An underpressure in tires (+ 3 % on 0,5 kg/sm2 of pressure decrease);
- Superfluous cargo in the car (+ 2 % on each 50 kg of cargo);
- The engaged air conditioner (+ 10 %);
- Open windows at speed 50 km/hour there is more.
Also problems with increased use of fuel on your car can arise because of not correct control mode by the car. Frequent using brakes, sharp strong pressing an accelerator pedal, long work of the engine idling at warming up or car parking inevitably create a problem high fuel consumption.
Besides many failures of your car create a problem of the over-expenditure of fuel.
The failures causing the over-expenditure of fuel at cars with injection of fuel.
- Engine power is lowered for any reason.
- The gage of oxygen or its chain is faulty.
- It is faulty any of temperature detectors or their chain
- The engine doesnt get warm to a working temperature.
- The ignition advance system is faulty.
- The flow sensor of air or its chain is faulty.
- The gage of position of a throttle valve or its chain is faulty
- An afterdribble of any spray jet (more often spray jets cold start-up if it is).
- The air filter is choked up.
- A weak spark.
- The forced aspiration system is faulty.
- Labels of a drive gear of a gas distribution are incorrectly established.
- The pressure monitoring system in inlet a collector is faulty
- Wrong pressure of gasoline.
- Valve clearances arent adjusted.
- Bad free to slide (for example because of the lowered wheels).
- The hydraulic clutch (at cars with "automatic machine") is faulty.
- Automatic transmission misoperation.
- Nespraven the leading bridge.
The failures causing the over-expenditure of fuel at diesel cars.
- Engine power is lowered.
- Spray jets are faulty.
- A lack of air submitted to an intake manifold.
- A wrong advancing of injection.
- The engine doesnt get warm to a working temperature.
- Misoperation of systems of drop of toxicity.
Remember - in time service, repair and car resetting, observance of service regulations will relieve you of problems with over-expenditure fuel and economy of money.
VAG Audi VW Seat Skoda Airbag Reseter
After car crash and airbag deployment, VW-Audi airbag sensor can by locked (Control unit faulty or deployed) and must be replaced. Even after small accident Airbag sensor will write in internal memory special error message “crash data stored” or “computer fault” and after you need o exchange very expensive sensor to new one. With our VAG Airbag Reset Tool you can reset and repair airbag computer in your office in 1 minute. No need to remove airbag sensor from the car.
How VW-Audi Airbag Reseter works:
Very simple user instruction: connect this tool to VW-Audi OBD II connector (for cars from year 1996-2002). RED button is for airbag “crash data” erase. Push this button once and wait: yellow light start to flash and after 15 second green light inform you that “crash data” is erased. Red light set ON if erasing is not successful. YELLOW button is for erase airbag “fault memory” or “errors”. If airbag warning lamp go OFF and immediately ON - evaluate airbag “error memory” using any VAG K-line scanner or VAS5051 or similar dealer equipment and repair according error code.
When we apply the +12V power supply to VAG airbag reseter ,the yellow light will flash 10 times, this indicates the system checking .After this we can do the normal operation. VAG Airbag Reset Tool has incorporated fully automatic airbag sensor type recognition. Opel Airbag Reset Tool works without additional computer and thought car OBD II connector can erase airbag sensor “crash data” or only fault memory.
Works with these cars: Older VW-Audi cars. In some cases use OBD to VAG old type converter (VAS-5051-2 not included in package). Sensors with white or orange 30-pin connector.

Parts Required
Fresh Air Blower, Part # 4D0 959 101
Procedure:
- Use the #2 Philips: Remove the 3 screws holding the Fresh Air Intake grill.
Use the #2 Philips: Remove the bottom 3 screws of the plenum. (Shown by the bottom 3 red circles)
Use the Short Depth 90° #2 Philips and Needle-Nose pliers: Loosen the top middle plenum screw with the short-depth 90° screw driver, and then use the needle-nose pliers to loosen the remainder.
- Use the Long Flat-tip screwdriver: Disengage all 4 clips on the side of the plenum, and gently pry the wires out from their retainer clips. There are 3 wire clips; 2 on the passenger side and one on the drivers side.
Use the #2 Philips:Gently lift the plenum and remove the screw in the front (hidden until now) that holds the wiring clamp. You can now lay the plenum off to the side, exposing the fan cowl. Take note of the 6 screws neede to remove it.
Use the Short Depth 90° #2 Philips (optionally, the ratchet 90°) small-sized box-end wrench: Remove the rear screws. Notice how I used the box-end wrench to apply the downward pressure needed to keep the 90° ratchet screwdriver on the screw. This speeded things up considerably.
And take a look at the amount of carbon:

Insallation of bracket on new fan:Take extra care to make sure all three items line below line up when installing the bracket on the new fan. The left most is a detail of a tab on the rubber. The other 2 are the routing of the wire.
Note: The wire comes off the top passenger side of the fan! TEST!!! Make sure you turn the ignition key to the "ON" postition, and manually turn the fan speed to high. If the fan does not turn, refer to the Bently manual for additional troubleshooting procedure, including test for voltage, etc.
- Test successful - Install the cowl - Reverse Steps 7 & 8
- TEST AGAIN!!! Make sure you turn the ignition key to the "ON" postition, and manually turn the fan speed to high. Listen for any rubbing on the cowl, etc.
- Test successful - Install remaining components - Reverse Steps 6 through 1: Start at Step 6 and work your way back until completely reinstalled.
Use the #1 Philips: Remove the top corner screws of the plenum, by gently pushing through the wiper grill.
Use the same procedure above:Remove the top screws (the screws that face outboard) on either side of the cowl, and then remove the cowl.
Use the 10mm socket, the 3/8" universal, 9" extension and 3/8" ratchet: Remove the rear and then the front 10mm bolts off the fan retainer bracket. Then, using the flat-tipped screwdriver or your fingernail, disconnect the eletrical connector.

Audi A3 iPod Integration with the Dension ice
The vendor (Enfig) shipped me a DICE interface as a replacement. It installs the same way as the ice>Link, but has some operational improvements. A new article on the DICE has been posted. Ill leave this article here for reference on the ice>Link:Plus.
Id been following the iPod connectivity debate for a while, and decided on the
Dension ice>Link:Plus Audi T2. It comes with either a cradle or just a cable, I opted for just the cable.
Here is a summary of the important points for this model:
- It connects to the CD changer connector in the glovebox. You can have either the glovebox CD changer, or this, but not both.
- If you have the in-dash CD changer, you can still use this. It connects specifically to the glovebox connector.
- If you have a glovebox changer and a satellite receiver hooked up to the head unit, youre out of luck.
- It makes the iPod appear to the head unit as if it were a CD changer.
- The first five playlists on the iPod (alphabetically) are treated as discs 1 through 5 of the virtual CD changer.
- You select the iPod using the CD button on the head unit. If you have a disc in the head unit, press CD twice. The Display will indicate CDC (CD Changer).
- You switch from one disc (playlist) to another using the buttons on the head unit.
- You can switch from one track to the next using the left steering wheel roller, or the head unit.
- You can fast-scan through the current track by pressing on the left steering wheel roller.
- It will pick up where it left off if you switch to FM and back, or if you leave the car and return.
- Current track name is displayed on the iPod display, but not in the same format as the standard iPod interface.
- The head unit will show tracks 1-99. You can actually advance past track 99 if you have more tracks in the playlist than that, but the head unit wont display the track number properly.
- The head unit does not show artist/track name.
- Selecting disc 6 makes a different menu appear on the iPod display, where you can select random play or select to use the iPod user interface. If you do that, you are prompted to disconnect/reconnect the iPod. Once you reconnect, you must use the iPod controls instead of the car controls, but you have full control over the iPod.
After using this for a couple of days, Ive determined that Random is absolutely the best thing for me. On the head unit, with the CDC (iPod) selected, press the Menu button on the head unit and select your choice of Random (Disc) or Random (Changer). I have it randomly playing stuff from across all my playlists, and I never have to mess with the ice>Link or iPod random/shuffle features.
Audi A3 Chrome Detailing
With a soft cloth or pad, you apply Wenol (after you have washed and dried your vehicle first of all) and softly rub in a circular motion across all chrome... it is completely safe to rub deeply into your chrome. You can feel with your fingers if there is any overspray still on your chrome and if so, then keep rubbing until your chrome is smooth.
Now get a few soft cotton towels or Microfiber towels and rub the chrome to a crystal clear and rich shine. Turn your towels often so the excess Wemol will be removed. The more you remove, the better the deep luster of a shine you will have.
Wemol also works great on Chrome that also has vinyl or plastic decals over the chrome (such as Rear View Mirrors)... guaranteed to make all eyes turn as you pull the sun away from their dullness.
Audi A8 Front End Removal
Tools Required
1 Large bucket to catch the engine coolant
1 Small bucket to catch the windshield washer fluid
10 mm allen wrench to remove bumper bolts
6 mm allen wrench
Metric sockets
Screwdrivers
Procedure
Jack the front end of the car up, place on jack stands. Remove the belly pan by removing fasteners and plastic pan.
Remove both lower outer grill pieces by prying out with a screwdriver.
Place bucket under passenger side of bumper. Loosen hose clamp on passenger side lower grill. Disconnect hose and the windshield washer fluid will drain out. Open the fill cap to vent the system.
Pop out the small pin holding the alternator ventilation duct to the bumper with a screwdriver and pull it free (right next to the windshield washer fluid connection).
Pop out the inner fender (both sides) at the forward part of the wheel well where it tucks in behind the bumper. Just get it started by prying out, and then work it out to the top of the bumper. You should be able to do this with your hands (wear mechanics gloves).
Unbolt the bumper using the 10mm allen head wrench or socket end, do both sides. You can see them if you lay on your back, they are vertically mounted into the bumper.
Remove both bumper bolts with 10mm allen head wrench.
Pull the bumper forward, it comes out like a drawer in a dresser.
Drain the coolant. This is accomplished by placing a large (5 gallon) bucket under the rear of the radiator and opening the petcock on the side shown in the picture below. Open the coolant expansion tank fill to vent the system.
Bumper removed, drain the radiator next.
Remove the engine plastic and other interference. See pictures below for details.
Remove radiator hose support.
Remove upper radiator hose from engine. DO NOT DISCONNECT SMALL HOSE AT TOP OF UPPER RADIATOR HOSE! If you do, you will most likely break it. Just remove the upper radiator hose from the block (2 places) and from the radiator. Place the hose on top of the engine with the small radiator hose in the middle attached.
Remove the lower radiator hose from the block. No need to disconnect it from the radiator, it will act as a stand pipe and prevent coolant from leaking all over. However, youll need to snake it around the torque support when pulling the front end.
Disconnect Electrical Connections
Disconnect the following connections (you may have to cut some tie wraps on the drivers side below the headlight):
- Headlight connectors (push metal piece to disconnect and pull)
- Ambient temperature sensor in front of radiator (push metal piece to disconnect and pull)
- A/C connector just in front of LH bumper shock absorber (push metal piece to disconnect and pull)
- Radiator electrical connector just above lower radiator hose (it just pulls off, try prying a little with a screwdriver)
- Corner marker lights (wait until you pull the front end and just turn them and remove)
There is no need to unbolt the hood latch cable, just pry it out using the picture below.
Remove Driver Side Headlight
Remove the trim below the headlights by unscrewing the small phillips head screw on the inboard side of the headlight (both sides). Pull the trim out towards front.
Remove drivers side headlight by unscrewing the four phillips head screws in the picture below. When reinstalling, tighten the top two first, then the bottom two. The corner marker will come with it, no need to disconnect.
Unbolt Radiator Support
Prior to unbolting the front bumper shock absorbers, MARK THE OUTLINE WITH A PERMANENT MARKER! This will give you a good idea where the front end should sit when it goes back on.
Unbolt the radiator support by removing the two 6mm hex heads in the fender. Pop the plastic piece above them and youll have access to them. Remove the bolts from the fender otherwise it will get caught up on them when pulling it out.
Remove the six bolts from the bumper shock absorber mounts, remove bumper shock absorbers. To clear the drivers side absorber, turn 90 degrees or so to get past the electrical connector.
Note the permanent marker markings outside of the
bumper absorber to show where it was prior to removal.
Place a dolly or other suitable support under the front end. Using a mechanics dolly works well with a piece of wood on it. Pull the front end out, and wiggle it so the passenger side comes out further than the drivers side. The headlight frame will just clear the drivers side fender.
Installation Notes
When installing the radiator assembly, snake the lower hose back around the torque support to get it in place.
Once lifted back in place, start the hex head fender bolts to hold it in place. Tighten these two bolts after tightening the bumper shock absorber bolts.
The radiator support must be jacked up to get it back properly lined up. To do this, use a jack and a piece of wood under the radiator, slightly support it, get all six bumper shock absorber bolts started, jack it up (look at the markings you made as a guide), and then tighten the bolts down. Jack it up as high as possible without putting too much stress on it. If you do not do this, it will sit too low and the bumper wont clear it.
Tighten the upper headlight screws before the lower headlight screws, this will pull it into place. Use the old markings as a guide.
Installation is reverse of removal.
2009 Jeep Wrangler Owners Manual
When it comes to service, remember that your authorized dealer knows your vehicle best, has factory-trained technicians and genuine Mopar parts, and cares about your satisfaction. Utility vehicles have a significantly higher rollover rate than other types of vehicles. This vehicle has a higher ground clearance and a higher center of gravity than many passenger cars. It is capable of performing better in a wide variety of off-road applications. Driven in an unsafe manner, all vehicles can go out of control. Because of the higher center of gravity and the narrower track, if this vehicle is out of control it may roll over when some other vehicles may not. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is found on the left front corner of the instrument panel pad, visible from outside of the vehicle through the windshield.

Frictional Pumping Electromagnetic Brake
Friction (pad/shoe) brakes are often rotating devices with a stationary pad and a rotating wear surface. Common configurations include shoes that contract to rub on the outside of a rotating drum, such as a band brake; a rotating drum with shoes that expand to rub the inside of a drum, commonly called a "drum brake", although other drum configurations are possible; and pads that pinch a rotating disc, commonly called a "disc brake". Other brake configurations are used, but less often. For example, PCC trolley brakes include a flat shoe which is clamped to the rail with an electromagnet; the Murphy brake pinches a rotating drum, and the Ausco Lambert disc brake uses a hollow disc (two parallel discs with a structural bridge) with shoes that sit between the disc surfaces and expand laterally.

The 166’s Sportronic is a normal torque converter automatic with a manual, sequential-shift override alongside. Then there’s Q-system – another conventional four-speed automatic, this time with a manual H-pattern gate offset to one side of the D. Last, but by no means least, Selespeed is effectively a regular five-speed manual, but without the clutch pedal. It not only offers self-shifting gears to ease the burden in suburban snarl-ups, but ices the cake for boy-racers with Formula One-style, thumb-operated gearshift buttons on the steering wheel. So now we can all play at being Michael Schumacher.
